Marriage
The best thing to hold onto in this world is each other.
The best things in life are made with love
The beautiful blending of two lives - two hearts - two loves.
Every day I fall more in love with you.
Forget me not.
Give your husband an inch and he'll think he's a ruler!
The goal of marriage is not to think alike, but to think together.
Grow old with me the best is yet to come. (Robert Browning)
Happiness is being married to your best friend.
A happy marriage is a long conversation which always seems too short.-- Andre Mauroios
Happy memories. Happy times. Happy Anniversary.
How right it is to love you
Love and marriage, Love and marriage, Go together like a horse and carriage
Marriage . . . the richness of living, the joy of giving, and a special love in each
new day.
Once in a lifetime you find someone special. I've found my once in a lifetime with
you.
Set me like a seal on your heart
A successful marriage requires falling in love many times with the same person.
Super glue is forever
SWAK
They are kind to each other's hopes. They cherish each others dreams. (Thoreau)
Thoughts of you always make me smile
Two Hearts Shall be as One
Two souls with but a single thought, Two hearts that beat as one. (Maria Lovell)
Volumes of love are written in your lives.
You have to kiss a lot of toads before you find your handsome prince!
Your words are poetry to my heart
Marriage is a wonderful blending of
Two lives, two loves, two hearts.
It's the wonderful magical moment
When a beautiful love story begins.
(Pamela Yarger)
I'd Marry You Again
(by Anne Peterson)
With tiny tears that glistened, my eyes were fixed on you,
And thinking of the life we'd share, we softly said "I do."
Our hearts were knit together from the time that we first met,
And memories were gathered, that we never will forget.
While daily living life with you, you saw the real me,
And still you chose acceptance, a lifelong mystery.
With many happy days gone by, and others when we cried
Some days we'd share so endlessly, while other days we'd hide.
With all the ups and downs we've had, in learning to be friends,
I know that in this heart of mine, I'd marry you again.
On Our Special Day
(Author Unknown)
I love looking back
to where we began,
seeing us as we were
at the beginning,
then slowly leafing through
the memories
we've made together
to bring us
to where we are today . . .
I love anticipating
the days ahead of us,
wondering what we'll find
in each other,
in ourselves,
before another year
has slipped away . . .
But, best of all,
I love being with you
where we are today,
together writing the pages
we'll remember tomorrow.

THE THINGS WE'VE HANDED DOWN
By Marc Cohn, "The Rainy Season" CD
Don't know much about you
Don't know who you are.
We've been doing fine without you
But, we could only go so far.
Don't know why you chose us,
Were you watching from above?
Is there someone there that knows us,
Said we'd give you all our love?

Mother
As a mother, my job is to take care of the possible . . . and
trust God with the impossible. (Ruth Bell Graham)
God couldn't be everywhere, so he created mothers.
Helping Mom
"Mother" . . . a special word for love.
A mother holds a special part of all that is treasured in the heart.
A mother is not a person to lean on but a person to make leaning unnecessary
(Dorothy Rossetti)
Mother, May I?
Motherhood is not for wimps
Mothers are the only goddesses in whom the whole world believes.
A mother's love warms the hearts of his/her children forever.
Mothers make the world go round.
Other words for "Mother:" Mom, Mum, Mommy,
Mama, Mummy, Matriarch, Mater, Mammy, Ma, Madre
You know you're a mother when.....
You count the sprinkles on each kids
cupcake to make sure they're equal.
You have time to shave only one leg at a time.
Your child throws up and you catch it.
You convince your child that FAO Swartz is a toy museum, not a toy store.
You find yourself cutting your husbands sandwiches into unusual shapes.
You can't bear to give away baby clothes...it's so final.
You lose sleep.
You donate to charity in the hope your child won't get that disease.
You use your own saliva to clean your child's face.
You say at least once a day "I'm not cut out for this job," but you wouldn't
trade it for anything.
(copyrighted material by Liane Kupferberg Carter)
I like my mother, my mother likes me,
that is the song I sing,
and that is the reason we look so alike,
it's a perfectly natural thing.
Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes, by dozens and
hundreds. Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers and sisters, aunts and
cousins, but only one mother in the whole world (Kate Douglas Wiggin)
I Hope . . .
I hope my children
Look back on today
And see a parent
Who had time to play.
There will be years for
Cleaning and cooking
But children grow up
When we're not looking.
M - O - T - H - E - R
by Howard Johnson
M - is for the million things she gave me,
O - means only that she's growing old,
T - is for the tears she shed to save me,
H - is for her heart of purest gold;
E - is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
R - means right, and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell MOTHER,
A word that means the world to me.
Mother
(Author Unknown)
My mother kept a garden,
a garden of the heart.
She planted all the good things
that gave my life its start.
She turned me to the sunshine
and encouraged me to dream,
Fostering and nurturing
the seeds of self-esteem.
And when the winds and rains came
she protected me enough
But not too much because she knew
I needed to grow strong and tough.
Her constant good example
always taught me right from wrong
Markers for my pathway
that will last a lifetime long.
I am my mother's garden
I am her legacy
And I hope today she feels the love
reflected back from me.
A Mother's Love
By Emily Taylor
There is not a grand inspiring thought,
There is not a truth by wisdom taught,
There is not a feeling pure and high,
That may not be read in a mother's eye.
There are teachings in earth and sky and air,
The heavens the glory of God declare;
But louder than voice, beneath, above,
He is heard to speak through a mother's love.
On Being a Mother of a Little Girl
A careful woman I ought to be
a little lady follows me.
I do not dare to go astray
for fear she'll go the self same way.
Not once can I escape her eyes:
Whate'er she sees me do she tries.
Like me she says she's going to be,
that little lady who follows me.
I must remember as I go
through summer sun and winter snow.
I'm molding for years to be
that little lady who follows me.

Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah
by Allen Sherman
Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah
Here I am at Camp Granada
Camp is very entertaining
And they say we'll have some fun if it stops raining.
I went hiking with Joe Spivey
He developed poison ivy
You remember Leonard Skinner
He got ptomaine poisoning last night after dinner.
All the counselors hate the waiters
And the lake has alligators
And the head coach wants no sissies
So he reads to us from something called Ulysses.
Now I don't want this to scare ya
But my bunkmate has malaria
You remember Jeffrey Hardy
They're about to organize a searching party.
Take me home, oh Muddah, Faddah
Take me home, I hate Granada
Don't leave me out in the forest where
I may get eaten by a bear.
Take me home, I promise I will not make noise
Or mess the house with other boys
Oh please don't make me stay
I've been here one whole day.
Dearest Fadduh, Darling Muddah
How's my precious little Bruddah
Let me come home if you miss me
I would even let Aunt Bertha hug and kiss me.
Wait a minute . . . it stopped hailing
Guys are swimming, guys are sailing
Playing baseball, gee that's better
Muddah, Faddah kindly disregard this letter.
Parents
A happy childhood is one of the best gifts that parents have it in
their power to bestow.
A Love Like No Other . . .
Me and my shadow
Parents hold their children's hands for a little while,
their hearts forever.
We never know the love of a parent until we become parents ourselves.
Dear Lord, I do not ask, that thou shouldst give me some high work of thine,
some noble calling or some wonderous task.
Give me a little hand to hold in mine.
Give me a little child to point the way, over the strange sweet path
that leads to thee.
Give me a little voice to teach to pray.
Give me two shining eyes thy face to see.
The only crown I ask, Dear Lord to wear is this, that I may teach a
little child. I do not ask that I
may ever stand among the wise the worthy or the great. I only ask that softly
hand-in-hand, a child and I may enter at the gate.

I had a dream last night. I dreamed
I had to pick a Mother out
I had to choose a Father too.
At first, I wondered what to do,
There were so many there, it seemed,
Short and tall and thin and stout.
But just before I sprang awake,
I knew what parents I would take.
And this surprised me and made me glad:
They were the ones I always had.

Back to School
By Starlette Howard
Today I hurry off to school,
To work and learn and play.
I'm in a brand new grade this year.
What a happy day!
Most of the summer we talked about it
I thought how it might be
When my daughter went off to school
And my time would then be free.
Then it was time to shop for school clothes
Amazed at how she's grown!
And when she showed me what she wanted
I was glad she's too little to choose her own.
She's off on a bright new adventure
As she starts first grade this year.
I hope, for her, that it's great fun
Yet still, I shed a tear . . .
We raised them from the cradle
With all the time and love we know . . .
We took the time to hold them close
God brings the times for letting go . . .
The Night Before School
T'was the night before school started
When all through the town
The parents were cheering,
It was a riotous sound!
By eight the kids were washed
and tucked into bed,
When memories of homework
Filled them with dread.
New pencils, new folders,
new notebooks, too;
New teachers, new friends,
their anxiety grew.
The parents just giggled
when they learned of this fright
And shouted upstairs,
"Go to bed, go to bed!
It's a school night!"
Partners
I dreamed I stood in a studio,
And watched two sculptors there.
The clay they used was a child's mind,
And they fashioned it with care.
One was a teacher; the tools used,
Were books and music and art.
One, a parent with guiding hands,
A gentle and loving heart.
Day after day the teacher toiled,
With a touch both deft and skilled.
The parent labored side by side,
And all the values filled.
And when at last their task was done,
They looked at what they'd wrought.
The beautiful shape of the precious child,
Could neither be sold nor bought.
And each agreed it would have failed,
If one had worked alone.
For behind the parent stood the school,
And behind the teacher, home.
I've worked with your flower
and helped it to grow.
I'm returning it now,
But I want you to know,
This flower is precious;
As dear as can be,
Love, take care of it,
And you will see
A bright new bloom with
Everyday.
It grew and blossomed
In such a wonderful way-
In September, just a bud;
January, a bloom.
Now a lovely blossom-
Remember, this flower,
As dear as can be-
Though rightly yours,
Part will always belong to me.

The alarm clock rings, you open your eyes
The day begins, you have to rise.

You can hardly wait to meet your friends!
Kindergarten
I'm so excited kindergarten is here,
I know it will be a great year.
I'm a big kid now and I'm on my way,
To board the bus for my very first day.
My teachers are there waiting for me,
Right at the door is where they will be.
I'll make lots of friends and have some fun,
And before you know it, the day will be done.

On Thursday, I wish I could go for a hike,
But I have to go to school.
On Friday, I'd love to go to the zoo,
But I have to go to school.
On Saturday, there's not a thing to do,
I wish I could go to school.

No matter how loud they might get,
When "push" might come to "shove,"
My oldest two will soon show me
How deep and true is love.
For though these two might argue and
Each claim the other's "mean,"
Nobody else had better try
To ever come between.
They fuss like cats and dogs, but then,
They soon forget who's right,
If someone hurts just one of them,
They'll instantly unite.
How wonderful is loyalty
That never ever ends;
For certain they both know inside
That they're forever friends.
Little Sister
By Crystal Bowman
I have a little sister
with curly golden hair.
I like to read her stories
And rock her in the chair.
She's so much fun to play with
She's small and cute and funny.
She loves her teddy bear,
and her furry, yellow bunny.
I love my little sister.
I'm proud to be her brother
But when she has dirty pants
I bring her to my mother.

Homeward bound
The Maine Event
A moving experience
Never can say goodbye
O, Beautiful for Spacious Skies
O Canada!
Off we go, into the wild blue yonder
On the road again
People I know, places I like to go
Rental Sweet Rental
Road trip
Run for the Border
Safety seats
Theres's more than corn in Indiana
Though distance may separate . . . the heart remembers.
The ultimate off-road vehicle
Under the sea
Way to go

Celebration of love
Fairy tales do come true!
Get Me mo the church on time
Getting ready . . .
Goin' To The Chapel . . . And We're Gonna' Get Married
Happiness is being married to your best friend.
To have and to hold
He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, we tied the knot!
Here comes the bride
I do! I do! I do!
I'll build your dreams with these two hands
The Mammas . . . and the Pappas
Man of the Hour
May these two hearts forever be, in sweet and loving harmony.
Once Upon A Time . . .
Our Hearts and Feet Dance today
Pretty maids all in a row
. . . And the story begins
This is the day that the Lord has made . . . let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Today, I marry my best friend
Two hearts shall be as one
Two hearts united in love
United in love
Wedding Bells Ring
We've only just begun
What a difference a day can make
With this ring . . . I thee wed
Today I will marry my friend,
the one I laugh with,
live for, dream with, LOVE!
Poems for disposable cameras at wedding receptions
I'm your camera - so have some fun,
You'll make this album a special one!
Snap away as best you're able,
Then leave me off at the guest table!
Take this camera and have some fun.
Get some pictures of everyone!
Maybe you'll see something we didn't see.
That we can keep as a memory!
The bride and groom have a request
So put on a big smile and look your best.
When you see some fun - take a hint!
You snap the camera and we'll make the print.
Here is a camera
Please use it alot,
To take pictures of
What the photographer will not.
The flash is required
Because it is night.
If you don't use it,
The snaps won't come out right.
Hold the front switch over
'Til the little light flutters
You're all ready now!!
So please press the shutter.
The perfect distance
is four to ten feet.
Any nearer or farther
Will be your defeat.
At the end of the evening
With all film exposed
Return to the Best Man,
Who'll develop the photos.
